The Hypnotic Power of Language to Manipulate Consciousness – Part 3

This is Part 3 of a little series dedicated to the power of language to manipulate consciousness.

You can read Part 1 and Part 2 here.

At some point though after studying language in an academy founded in 1996 as in NLP Linguistics I realized that I had no idea what the news was telling me. I could sense that in what they were saying something was not quite right. I could now recognize that the “news” had very little resemblance to my personal experience. The reader will remember in Part 1 and Part 2 we talked about experiential knowledge (which is acquired through your own experience of life VS information which is given to you by someone else and the fact that the two can contradict each other heavily).

If that wasn’t enough, I started to learn also “experientially” the effects of the language in the media. For example the media was telling me that once you go through a distressing event in your life, there is nothing you can do about it. You will feel bad for the rest of your life and all you can do is learn to cope with the situation or take some medication to assist you.

Without Time Line Therapy® that’s pretty much what you’re left with. However, once I learned Time Line Therapy® I realized that I don’t have to be prisoner of my past. That no matter what happened to me, no matter how difficult of a situation I encountered, I can be free of the negative emotional baggage. The event in my past was turned into an opportunity for growth, not the cause of my misfortune. And this was my experience – my knowledge in spite of the information I received from the media to the contrary.

Then something else happened. Without the Negative Emotions from the past, I realized that my behavior in the present has changed for the better, I became far more optimistic (and I am a pretty optimistic person – for me the glass is always half full).

But people are fascinated by dramatic stories filled with Negative Emotions. Look at how many people love horror movies. They love being scared out of their skulls. Little do they know that their Unconscious Mind records everything and creates automatic behaviors to reflect that fear.

Of course you will hear that what I described above is not possible. That memories from the past don’t just disappear. And I would say that this is gibberish.

But let’s be precise. I did not say that the memories would disappear. In fact that would be counterproductive. You need your memories – otherwise you would not have any clue who you are. The matrix of your personality is made up from the sum total of your life experiences – your memories. That’s actually correct. Memories do not disappear, but the negative emotional baggage does. Which turns these memories into learnings and sources of strength rather that draining energy from you.

The public wrongly believes the information and makes out if it a Complex Equivalent (see the definition of Complex Equivalents here) to knowledge.

Back up and think about that. Don’t automatically buy into the “common knowledge”. Common knowledge may be no knowledge at all.

Until next time, be well.
