How to Create Action with NLP, Time Line Therapy® and NLP Coaching
As per the principles of success, there are five (5) steps in which are required to have a desired outcome, they are as follows:
- Know your outcome
- Take action
- Have sensory acuity
- Have behavioral flexibility (to know what’s working or not)
- Operate from a physiology & Psychology of Excellence
This article will focus on steps one and two (Take Action) or lack thereof.
WHY
First of all why would anyone need help to take action for something that they know they want or need to do? Why would there be a stoppage. If you want to create action, but cannot, what do you think is preventing you? Your body, or perhaps your mind? Why have you not created action in your life? Why have you not been able to progress in your life? What is stopping you?
Well, have you ever wanted to do something like go to the gym and exercise, learn another language, lose weight, take a course, write an article, or any goal for that matter, but for some reason or another you find yourself procrastinating? Or you just can’t get yourself to move in the direction of your goal, much less accomplish it? Why is that?
WHAT
Well, as you know, the mind controls the body and the body responds to the commands of the mind, much like that of a robot and in some cases there is a disconnect or inner conflict(s) which may be preventing you from following through with your goal(s). NLP has many tools in which to resolve inner conflicts, one of which I’ve used many times on myself and with others. The technique is called Parts Integration (a process in which you would “chunk” up to go beyond the boundaries of each “part” to find a higher level of wholeness). A “Part” is a part of the unconscious mind with its own beliefs and values in which it thinks it runs the body; Imagine if you will a multi-lane highway (neural network pathway) in which there is a an accident causing a traffic jam, well aside from the obvious slowdown, the cars will now have to be re-routed. Well the communication within the neural network pathways would work the same way in which the “part” is the one causing the accident or slowdown in which the communication gets re-routed but may not get to its intended target.
WHAT IF
What if I have an inner conflict, or procrastinate? What if after I’ve followed the process I am still not able to move towards my goal? What if I can’t create the picture?
