How Many Different Kinds of Medicine Are There? Is NLP One of Them?

NLP | Kinds of Medicine

Alternative and Complimentary Healing

One kind, right? Medicine. When you go to a doctor, where do you go? Sure you go to a Medical Doctor! That’s right, isn’t it?

That is interesting – because I originally thought there was only one kind of medicine. But did you know that before 1938 there was minimal regulation of medicine. It was only after more than 100 people – mostly children – died from a new medicine produced by a pharmaceutical company, a public uproar prompted rapid approval of the 1938 Food, Drug & Cosmetic Act. The law significantly expanded the Food & Drug Administration’s authority over the marketing of new drugs.

The problem was also used to solve another problem that Allopathic Medicine had at the time and that was the other forms of medicine competing with Allopathic Medicine. From that point on the competing medicines were weeded out until today we basically have: (from Wikipedia)

Alternative: Acupuncture Anthroposophic medicine Herbalism Homeopathy Naturopathy Orthopathy Osteopathy/Chiropractic

Traditional medicine: Chinese Mongolian Tibetan Unani Siddha Ayurveda

NCCAM classifications: Whole medical systems Mind-body interventions Biologically based therapies Manipulative therapy Energy therapies

Not in Wikipedia, but added by us are also all native forms of healing including Native American Hawaiian Huna Maori Australian Aboriginal, etc. Some people take to medical marijuana for mental therapy and find it refreshingly effective. Check out this website that sells bongs.

Is Something Missing?

But now here is a question for you. Where is the mental healing? Where is the approach to healing that says that the condition of your body is a result of the condition of your mind? And where are the techniques for changing your mind and changing your health.

In Ancient Hawaiian Huna there were Kahuna La’au Lapa’au and they were herbalists, but there were also Kahuna La’au Kahea. They were the equivalent of Psychologists and they also did Mental Healing. There were also Kahuna Ho’oponopono, who cleared up relationship issues (conflicts between people) that caused physical problems.

OH, HAHAHA! Don’t be silly, if you are really sick, mental healing won’t help you. Really? There is an old Hawaiian saying, “So that the medicine may work, do Ho’oponopono”

Am I saying that there is a mental component to physical disease? Yes, I am. In fact, why is it that in cancer treatment, say when a lump is removed, and the doctors say, “We got all of it”, that the lump can regrow? Is it possible that there is a mental component that will also play a role in the process of healing? According to Dr. Andres Bustillo, some people opt for cosmetic surgery to enhance their appearance and, in turn, boost self-esteem.

By the way, before we go any further, I am not saying that you shouldn’t see a Medical Doctor. And I am especially not saying there are some things for which you should never see a doctor. Because there are some things that Allopathic Medicine does very well, such as urgent care. If you have an injury like a broken bone, definitely see a Medical Doctor for that. When you are taking Medical treatment you need to watch the Psyche of the patient to make sure that there are no negative instructions given to his unconscious mind.

Jim Taylor, O.D., M.D. was a friend of mine and when he was practicing at USC he was head of Anesthesiology. He told me that the instructions given to the patients while they are on the operating table under anesthetic were really counterproductive. The doctors would have the patient on the table and say things like, “Oh, look how bad this cancer is, this guy’s going to die.” He told me that he (he was a big guy) would physically throw those doctors out of the Operating Room and tell them to shut up!

Good Things… Bad Things…

OK. So now we know that we can say good things and bad things to support healing. Of course which one is better for the patient’s recovery? Yes, good things.

There is also more that we can do. Using Time Line Therapy® techniques we can get rid of negative emotions which rob the body of healing energy, and we can also get rid of Limiting Decisions that will prevent the unconscious mind from doing anything to heal the body. By no means is this all you can do, but our time here in this article is limited.

Time Line Therapy® techniques have been proven to be helpful in assisting the mind to heal the body, and there is a lot more to say about that. Our graduates have used it successfully to assist in the recovery of Ex-Service personnel. It has been used in conjunction with medical help to improve the mental state of the ill and assist them to return to full health. So, yes, if the mind health is missing the body has a harder time.

As many of you know, Time Line Therapy® techniques are taught at 3 levels. The first 2 levels are contained in the NLP Practitioner and the NLP Master Practitioner trainings, and the third level is the Time Line Therapy® Trainer’s Certification Training.

In independent studies Hypnosis has also been shown to assist in the healing process. We also teach that at 3 levels similar to the Time Line Therapy® training programs.

If you are interested in looking into the mental basis for physical healing there is no better training program.
