In part one of this two part article we analyzed some differences between people who lay down and accept everything from life, no matter how bad it is and others who don’t. We also talked about people who don’t want to hear anything that conflicts their personal beliefs VS people who do.

So let’s say that now you know – you have some beliefs you are aware of that need changing. Unfortunately you cannot do this by simply deciding “I have this new belief from now on”. And even if you could, what about the old one? It is still there “roaming” in your unconscious mind. In general it does not work to simply decide you want to change your beliefs and “Poof” – it happens as if by magic, because your beliefs run unconsciously. They have been there for a long time – maybe from your family when you were a little toddler, maybe from your friends or from television.
Changing your beliefs with Time Line Therapy® is not difficult, but you need to want to do it. You first have to realize that you have many beliefs which don’t serve you. You carry with you unconsciously an enormous number of beliefs and you are not conscious of most of them. The reality you experience is constructed by your beliefs. Other people in other countries or other places in the country will have different experiences of reality because they have different beliefs.
Heck, people reading this article will have different beliefs than me. Some will agree, some will disagree and from these who disagree many will want to tell me how it is as others will simply not pay attention (all based on their personal beliefs). That’s how it works. Your beliefs tell you how good (or bad) you really feel about yourself, how capable, intelligent, attractive, self-confident you are (or not), about whether you believe in God, afterlife, past life, and so on.
In other words your beliefs make up the rules of your life

There is something else that influences “the Law of Attraction” and the creation of your future as well as the future of all humanity. And this is very pervasive. It is fear. Do you remember Will Smith in the movie After Earth?The character he played, Cypher, said something to this extent – and this as close as I can remember the quote but the idea was that fear is not real. It exists in our thoughts of the future, but this does not mean there is no danger. Danger is real, but fear is a choice. Fear is a choice.
Very few people are aware of the constant barraging of fear we face every day from our main stream media, and even alternative media not to speak about our personal fears we also create inside our heads. How could you expect to have a clear head and create the future you want (as in Creating Your Future® process form Time Line Therapy®) when your perceptions and interpretation of your reality is clouded by fear?
While flight response (as in fight or flight response) is a program used for our survival, fear is a secondary emotion. It is not a visceral reaction. It is not the primary response. Many people have the following experience: they are in a situation where they are threatened. They manage to get out of there fast, and after that they experienced fear. This is because they operated instinctually with the flight response to get themselves to safety. Fear did not help a bit. It was not even present until after the situation. Of course the opposite is also possible. Some people get paralyzed by fear when threatened and then again, fear is not of any use.
The question you can ask yourself is the following: is this fear really helping me? And if the answer is no, then who is being helped by your fear?
5. And finally.
As a result of all of the above, many people’s behavior is automatic and reflexive, based on basic impulses. They react with a knee jerk reflex to whatever is thrown at them. They adapt to situations in which they should not be willing to adapt to. In other words unconsciously they pretend not to observe anything that runs counter to whatever beliefs they have. In NLP we call this their model of the world. They get angry and defensive if other beliefs threaten the safety of their model of the world – for them it is vital to protect this model of the world. They will rationalize every thing and any thing that does not fit in their tight model of the world. They don’t stop for a second to ask, “Are my beliefs even mine? Or were they put in there by the boatload by someone else?” They have lost the capacity for critical thinking. They don’t question. They are looking up to somebody else to tell them what to do all the time. They are frozen and cannot make up their mind unless told by someone else. They have become biological androids or zombies.
Of course if you are trained in NLP at Master Practitioner level you have recognized a full-on values level 2-4 type of thinking which also exacerbates the situation making it only worse.
